COMMERCIAL DIVING ENROLLMENT AGREEMENT

  • COST-    I am willing to pay the sum of ............................ for Tuition on the respective course which includes training both practical and theory and I realize that I am legally bound by this document if I do not fulfill any part of this document. 

 

  • PERSONAL EQUIPMENT- All students must have steel tip boots, approved coveralls with reflective stripes, approved diving gloves, approved diving knife, 10in and 12in crescent wrench, commercial diving log book and approved booties and any other required equipment for the practical dives.

 

  • SCHOOL RESPONSIBILITY- The school agrees to make available to the applicant classroom space, all diving supplies and equipment, diving station space, diving manuals, diving logs, handouts, re-compression chamber training and instruction in the training course as outlined in the program designated for the period indicated. The school agrees to award the appropriate diploma, and required dive certifications, and to provide assistance in locating employment after the student meets all the requirements for the course completion. The school reserves the right to schedule subjects within the curriculum in the order deemed necessary and if necessary to change or revise class dates and international certification. The school does not guarantee job placement 

 

  • STUDENT PERFORMANCE: the student agrees to attend classes regularly and abide by the rules and regulations of the School and to complete all homework and attend ALL internal exams. 

   

  • MISSING CLASSES: Students must bring a written excuse for each class missed and this excuse must be approved by the managing director before the student can attend another class. Students missing 5 classes overall will be issued a warning letter and not be allowed in the classroom or on dives until approved by the managing director. Students missing more than 5 classes will not be allowed to attend any further classes until they have made up the missed classes by either sitting in a deferred class or paying the schools instructors for extra classes.

  

  • METHOD AND TERMS OF PAYMENTS -

 

Option 1: Full payment made on application. Please note refund policy.

 

Option 2: Part payments are accepted however ALL payments must be made prior to the start of a class. Please note refund policy. Minimum initial payment is $15,000 TTD or   $ 2,500 USD. 

 

  • REFUNDS;

 

Cancellation: Cancellation by the student of the training prior to starting date will incur a  refund less 20% administrative fee. This cancellation must be made no less than 20 days prior to the start of the course. Cancellation made within 20 days of the course will not be refunded.

 

If the applicant is not accepted by the school before starting classes a refund will be made less 20% administrative fee. Students will be required to pay for any pre-scuba dives that they take part in or any other pre- experience that they can take part in prior to starting a class.

 

 If the student drops out at any period during the course for whatever reason no refund or part refund will be made to the student

 

  • FINAL EXAMS and REFUNDS; If the student fails to write the final exam or part of the exams for whatever reason no refund or part refund is given. Students who miss any final exam will rewrite that exam or exams on a date approved by the managing director and be subjected to the certifying body approval for conducting of exams. Students cannot write part of any final exam and then opt to write the balance another time.

 

  • MONTHLY EXAMS -   Training covers 17 weeks at approximately 40 hours per week. The course is divided into 4 training modules. All students will be given both practical and theory exams at the end of each module examining what was covered during the period. All students are required to achieve 75% proficiency in both their practical and theory exams to move on to the next module. Students who do not acquire the passing grade will have one opportunity to do the same exam again. On failing this second attempt the student will have to sit through the entire module during the next training course.

 

  • Essential classes must not be missed -essential classes are classes that consist of  practical diving whether in confined area or deep water training areas, essential classes also consist of review theory  sessions. Students missing any one of these essential sessions will not be allowed to continue the course nor be certified and no refund or part refund will be entertained.

 

  • EXAM  FAILURE  for students who fail the final exam and wish to rewrite the exam at the next sitting has an option to return to classes or rewrite the exam on the next date to be announced at a cost of $1000 US, which is to be paid before attending the classes or exams If students opt for the exam only, payment MUST be paid one month before the exam date.

 

  • DRUG  POLICY:  UWIL is against the use of Drugs and Alcohol. Any student found under the influence of drugs and /or alcohol will be immediately expelled from the school. A routine and random drug test WILL be done. Any student refusing to allow this test will be expelled from the school. No refund on fees will be entertained if any student is found under the influence of drugs and or alcohol either at the school, dive shop or dive sites. We also do not allow smoking on the school's compound, within the dive shop and within 200ft from the dive site.  

 

  • DIVE SITE BEHAVIOUR: ALL students are to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all dive sites and must adhere to all standards, rules and regulations for diving operations to be carried out on the said site. Students not doing so will be asked to leave the site until they can follow the required laws governing them at that site. Students missing dives will have to make up their dive hours and training at the next available dive class.
