About Us

If you want Scuba Diving in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean? You are at the right place. UWIL has been in existence for the past four (4) years, while its affiliate Nick’s Watersports has been in existence for the past six(6) years.

At Nick’s Watersports, we train swimmers and scuba divers and have made a name for ourselves as the number one training facility in Trinidad.  We are known for serving persons of all ages and our prices for training and equipment are the best in the market. We offer PDIC and PADI international scuba diving certifications, providing a standard of training that is comparable to any other training facility in the world.

UWIL was set up to facilitate the needs of the growing commercial diving industry in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean. We recognised that a large number of the companies were utilising scuba divers to perform commercial diving jobs for private and state agencies. This is not a safe practice as these scuba divers are not trained with the proper skills and knowledge expected and required of commercial divers.  At UWIL, we have the personnel and equipment to adequately train commercial divers to work in both the national and international commercial diving industry.

Our director, Glenn Cheddie, is a dive professional, who has been involved in the diving industry in Trinidad and Tobago and USA (Miami, Fl.) for the past Twenty three (23) years. He is highly qualified and possess the following: LLB LAW (HONS): ENV. MGT. (DIPLO): TEACH. EDU. DIPLOMA:  PDIC  SCUBA  INSTRUCTOR: NITROX INST: RESCUE INSTR: FIRST AID CPR INST:DIVE MEDIC INST: PUBLIC SAFETY DIVER INST:UNDERWATER  INVESTIGATOR INST. KIRBY MORGAN TECHNICIAN  INST.

UWIL is a DAN (Divers Alert Network) Business Member and has shown a keen interest in the safety and well being of divers in the islands and will continue to do so by offering Dive Medic courses, First Aid and CPR courses, Hyperbaric Chamber Operator training courses and free advice to individuals on related diving injuries.
